Alfredo Palmero
Alfredo Palmero (Barcelona, 1966) represents the third generation of a lineage of artists that began with his grandfather, Maestro Palmero (1901–1991), with whom he shared both his name and a deep passion for painting. From his grandfather, he learned academic foundations and realistic composition, which helped him develop his own distinctive style.
His artistic training has been shaped more by the influence of painters such as Picasso, Klee, and Velázquez than by specific movements or styles. Classicism and contemporaneity come together in a dual body of work that the artist handles with ease, highlighting his personal vision of painting. Starting from academic drawing and blending tradition with modernity, Alfredo Palmero’s work reflects great artistic maturity, the result of constant effort and research, with a particular emphasis on the treatment of light and color. His work draws from two distinct styles: one rooted in objective, naturalistic, and realistic painting; the other more subjective and introspective, influenced by movements such as fantastic art, surrealism, and expressionism.
Alfredo Palmero has three private museums to his name, two of which belong to the family legacy, which spans more than 100 years in the world of painting. One museum is located in his grandfather’s birthplace, Maestro Palmero, in the heart of La Mancha (Almodóvar del Campo, Ciudad Real), while the other, the headquarters of the Palmero Museum in Barcelona, is housed in a 15th-century farmhouse declared a historic monument, located in the heart of the city. The third private museum, NEPCA, is the artist’s most recent project and the only one that exclusively features works by Alfredo Palmero.
Since 1991, Alfredo has held exhibitions in cities around the world, including Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, Brussels, London, Lisbon, Paris, Monte Carlo, Denmark, Berlin, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Miami, Panama, Hong Kong, Qatar, Kuwait, Washington, New York, China, and South Korea—establishing himself as an international painter. His works can also be found in important private collections.
